The Dawn of Aviation in Turin

Aero Club Torino was founded in 1908, during the pioneering years of aviation, when flying was still a dream for many. Its founders, enthusiasts of aeronautics and technology, created an association that would become a point of reference for the development of flight in Piedmont and in Italy.

In 1926, Italy's first commercial airline route departed from Turin airport, connecting Turin to Trieste via Pavia and Venice. This event marked the beginning of the civil air transport era in our country.

After the hardships of the Second World War, the Aero Club resumed its activities with renewed enthusiasm, contributing to the revival of Italian sport aviation. In 1960, its headquarters were moved to the present-day Torino-Aeritalia airport, dedicated to the memory of Edoardo Agnelli.

In 2009, Turin hosted the World Air Games, the Olympics of Flight, with Aero Club Torino playing a leading role in the organisation of this prestigious international event.

Today, Aero Club Torino is the first aero club in Italy to have fully digitalised its operations, using tools such as ForeFlight, TrustFlight and FlyForm to ensure the highest level of safety and efficiency in all flight activities.
